Peter Staunton is a musician and producer based in Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland. With a particular focus on bringing Irish music to dance floors, reclaiming it from formal/seated concert environments, Peter creates electronic Irish music (SuperCéilí) as well as live shows which make use of technology and innovative repertoire to open Irish music up to a broader audience (Scannal). He also performs Irish music at home and abroad with Niamh Varian-Barry (Duó).
Peter is the co-founder and director of Ireland’s ‘Workplace Choir of the Year’ in association with RTÉ lyric fm, which has created a platform for more than 1,000 Irish people to engage with music and perform in some of the most prestigious venues in the country.
As director of Productions.ie, Peter produces backing tracks, remixes, radio advertisements, voiceovers, photography, videography, and print and web designs.
